Axeon has published a ‘Guide to Batteries’ to help industry stakeholders understand current battery technology and how it relates to the automotive sector.
Given the growth in automotive battery applications, Axeon is committed to providing clear knowledge and information on battery technology to promote greater understanding of how batteries can revolutionise the automotive industry.
The guide available to download from the Axeon website includes an introduction to different cell chemistries, as well as general information on how batteries work. Axeon also indicates some probable future developments and provides an overview of the Battery Management System, critical for safety and performance, and a discussion on charging and related infrastructure.
Lawrence Berns, Axeon CEO, commented: “Battery technology will play a major role in product development across all sectors of the automotive industry with the continual drive to reduce vehicle emissions. We are confident that this guide will be useful in providing not only an explanation of current systems, but also insights into how the technology is likely to develop.”
UK-based Axeon has industry-leading R&D programmes focused on improving the commercial viability of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Cars and vans powered by Axeon have already driven around a million miles on European and US roads and are manufactured in the UK.
