Mazda has unveiled a Norwegian-specification RX-8 Hydrogen RE as part of a ceremony celebrating the opening of the latest HyNor hydrogen filling stations. With this opening, Norway’s national hydrogen project has taken a major step towards creating an extended hydrogen infrastructure along the 580 km Oslo to Stavanger route. Mazda Motor Corporation and HyNor (Hydrogen Road of Norway) have announced they will collaborate in the development of hydrogen fuel and hydrogen vehicles. His Excellency Mr Åge B Grutle, Norwegian ambassador to Japan, Mr Ulf Hafseld, chairman of HyNor, and Mr Seita Kanai, a director and senior managing executive officer of Mazda, all signed a memorandum of understanding for the collaboration and support in the development of a Hydrogen Economy.
