Motorpoint records highest demand for used cars in 10 years(12/12/2008)
According to Motorpoint, demand for used cars has reached its highest level in the 10 year history of the company, which sells some 35,000 cars a year. Buoyed by savings of over 70% on equivalent new models, last month some 94.8% of all cars sold were used. This is in stark contrast to this time last year, when just over 70% of cars were used. Today's modern diesel engines, with their sophisticated high pressure injection systems, typically have a low tolerance to mis-fuelling. Even after a short driving distance, the fuel pump may seize, requiring expensive repairs to the injection system.
