Shortly after the market launch of the S 400 HYBRID, Mercedes-Benz is presenting the Vision S 500 Plug-in HYBRID, first “three-litre car” in the premium class, at the 63rd IAA in Frankfurt.

Following its challenge to The Mayor of London, Volvo Car UK has been successful in its bid to review the current Congestion Charge alternative fuel exemption that, Volvo believes, unfairly biases hybrid cars over other low-emitting vehicles.

Opel has announced Ampera as the name of its extended-range electric car. The five-door, four-seat Opel Ampera will be revealed at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show (March 5-15).
GM's electric propulsion technology, called Voltec, operates differently from other advanced propulsion systems. A man has found a green way to commute to work that he says is costing him the same price as an apple a day. Simon Arundel, a 43 year-old insurance manager from Stroud, has an electric scooter and is using electricity supplier green energy uk’s Deep Green renewable electricity to charge it.
