Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) and the government of Thailand have agreed to start joint study for fleet testing of electric vehicles (EV). The UK Government has revealed the first set of vehicles eligible for the new ‘Plug-In Car Grant’. Transport Secretary Philip Hammond and Business Minister Mark Prisk announced the milestone which could make 2011 the year of the electric car for the UK - and revealed five more regions that will be installing local charging points having successfully bid for a share of a £20m fund.

Honda's improved Insight hybrid, featuring adjusted suspension to improve ride comfort and NVH levels and enhanced trim levels is now on British roads.
A number of chassis changes have been implemented, including: adjusting the recoil rate of the springs, changing the rear camber angles, altering the V-shape rear suspension brace and adjusting mounts. The amendments promise to deliver improved ride, handling and stability.

Toyota's iQ EV is scheduled to go on sale in the USA in 2012, but Toyota is looking at its potential in other markets, including Europe, Japan and China. Toyota is to undertake European road trials of an electric-powered version of its iQ city car from next year.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC)'s world premiere of the North American version of its i-MiEV new-generation electric vehicle will take place at the LA AUTO SHOW (LAAS) held at the Los Angeles Convention Centre later this month.
