JATO: Fiat achieves European target for CO2 emissions five years early

Fiat Automobiles' average CO2 emissions figure on cars sold in Europe during the first half of 2009 has dropped to 129.1 g/km. The new figure – corroborated by automotive advisory JATO – means that Fiat is the only mainstream car brand to achieve the European average goal, of 130 g/km by 2015, five years early. Jaguar: Tata prepares European launch in 2010

Tata is preparing for a full-scale European launch in 2010, with both the tiny Nano city car and a fully-revised Indica B-segment hatchback – including an electric version. But the launch will not use the Rover brand, which Tata acquired through its purchase of Jaguar and Land-Rover. Instead, the Tata brand will be used worldwide for small cars. Xtrac believes the flywheel kinetic energy recovery systems (KERS) currently being developed for Formula One could be applied to road vehicles in a number of ways.
