The Citroën Relay’s unique combination of environmental and operational benefits has convinced EAE Ltd to convert its 21-strong fleet of large vans. The Edinburgh based company has initially ordered four Relay 35 L3H2 and three Relay 30 L1H1 100 panel vans with a similar number scheduled for delivery next year.

Chevrolet chose to announce the UK pricing of the Volt, which comes to showrooms in right-hand-drive form in Spring 2012, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the US-manufacturer was celebrating its centenary.
When it goes on sale in the UK next year, the Volt will cost from £28,545 after the government backed £5,000 electric vehicle grant, making it less expensive than some traditional petrol or diesel engined five-door hatchbacks.

As hybrid cars proved to be more popular with Londoners than in any other region in Britain, it suggests that the old congestion charge exemption rules may still be prominent in people’s minds. Under the old Alternative Fuel Vehicle Discount rules, all hybrid cars were automatically exempt from the charge, regardless of emission level while all diesel cars paid the charge.
